An air cooled internal combustion engine with Y-shaped cylinders is known, equipped with a contactless ignition system and containing a crankcase with cylinders that are installed on opposite sides of the crankcase and provided with cooling fins. At the front end of the crankcase is attached to the stove plate. The crankshaft shaft is fixed for rotation in the crankcase; its front end projects forward and the flywheel-fan is fixed on it. Coils 19, 21 and 22 are fixed on a mounting plate 6, wherein the coil 19 is located inside, and the coils 21 and 22 outside the flywheel-fan 9. The contactless control unit 18 comprises a diode 23, capacitors 24 and 25 and thyristors 26 and 27.
